Cottonwood Fluff
[From Craig] Our last post was about snow in Rocky Mountain National Park. This one may look a little similar, but the images were shot in 90° F. Here at Riverview Park near Loveland CO, there are many cottonwood trees. I think cottonwood trees like riversides. It is their time to make cotton fluff.
For us this is fun because we just didn't have Cottonwood trees in Wisconsin where we both grew up. Just real snow. 😉
[From Craig] Fortunately, we were a row or two away from the main deluge of cottonwood fluff, where I took the pictures. Soon as we have some time, I will try vacuuming the screen that surrounds our A/C. Right now it's working OK in 98° F in Kearney NE.
The fluff is very combustible. Drop a lit match into a pile and stand back.
ReplyDeleteAlso it is really good at plugging up your A/C evaporative coils. Enjoy!
Just looking at the pictures you would swear that there was Snow on the ground.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy the scenery.
It's about time.
I was going to mention cleaning out your a/c. I learned to hate cottonwood when we had a house and our neighbors had two trees.
