" notes" page recently because by the time I get a post ready I forget to do it.
So here is a catch up post.
Exercise Goal : To walk 1000 miles on my treadmill or on trails.
20.2 miles since April ...
2 miles Sunday May 22
Total walked = 362.5 miles
I don't walk hard and I rarely break a sweat, so I suppose I'm really not doing any good, but I do feel a bit better after a couple of miles, and keeping track gives me a little motivation.
I have also found some National Geographic specials about the National Parks on NetFlix, so I can see the country without leaving home.
It's much like watching the food channel when you are on a diet.
You don't need to break a sweat for walking to help you develop strength and endurance. So good for you girl!
ReplyDeleteYeah, what J&S said! Keep moving those feet!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha! Good analogy about Nat'l Geo. :)
ReplyDeleteWeight Watchers says, "Just move!" It doesn't matter what you're doing, as long as you're moving. (Of course, more strenuous exercise will firm you up and thin you down faster, but I always figure if I'm moving, I'm doing better than sitting.)
ReplyDeleteGood for you, you're keeping at it. Margie would have been proud. I still think about her, I used to follow her weight loss blog.
Walking is great no matter what the pace. I totally agree that the objective is to move and you are doing plenty of that. Just think of all the places you could have walked to by walking over 300 miles! ;)
ReplyDeletekeep on walking Merikay!!..good for you!!
ReplyDeleteI mentally 'move' all the time. Other than that, I can't get my lazy butt off the couch :) I need to get motivated!
ReplyDeleteWalking is good - keep up the good work. Even slow is better than no walking.
ReplyDeleteHi. I've been thinking about you a lot over the last few days.
ReplyDeleteIt's not easy to let the dream go without losing all hope.
I can see that it's becoming less and less likely that we will ever tour again in USA or even within NZ. Still hoping but realising it may never happen.
Meantime there's plenty to do in our own backyard although I'm taking it easy today as I'm tired and sore from the car accident we had. I don't even have energy for a walk today.
Blessings
Nothing like a good walk to make you come alive and feel better.
ReplyDeleteExercising for the sake of exercising has never been my strong point but when it's combined with a productive & enjoyable function like walking a dog, hiking a trail through scenic surroundings or grabbing a camera & setting out in search of some photos, then it becomes a pleasant experience. The extra oxygen that creates in the bloodstream is the key to feeling better. We have many reasons for going to the Southwest in the winter but one of the big ones is the actively healthier lifestyle it generates as opposed to sitting in the house all winter in Canada. I think if a person can link a hobby to exercise they are well on their way to a healthier lifestyle both mentally & physically.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy walking too Merikay. Make it an adventure and walk in fun places that you want to see and explore. Take a friend or your husband with you and enjoy the time talking while walking. If you are like me, you won't notice how far you have walked. My feet keep moving with my mouth!!
ReplyDeleteIt bothers me that you have given up on your dream. Ken and I are still working out the logistics of our dream to full time RV. We never know what life holds in front of us, but we can dream.
I am glad to see that you are finding ways to improvise on your dream though.
