I'm So Excited!

On Thursday we went to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park with the objective of enjoying a pleasant day and giving our new cameras a workout.  I got mine in late September, and Craig got his for Christmas, but with my shoulder healing from surgery, I really haven't had the chance to experiment very much.

The Safari Park is about an hour's drive from Jojoba Hills, and is a perfect place to photograph animals. It was a beautiful day, and the park was not crowded. Most of the animals we observed were awake, and the enclosures were large and photo-friendly.

Below are ten images.  I could easily have added another ten from the day's shoot! It looks like our biggest problem is going to be deciding which to keep and which to delete.

I love digital photography!

I am really looking forward to taking lots of pictures on our travels to the Northwest this summer, and sharing them with all of you.

Next week we go to the Winter Blast in Havasu City, NV. I hope we can do some hikes during the days at the beginning of the week. I think the fireworks don't start until later in the week.

Looking up!

  1. Nice start to your photography career. Do you have a tripod for long exposure of fireworks? Start googling or you tube to learn how. I'm expecting great things!!

    1. The day that we ordered the RX10iii, Sony announced its successor RX10iv about an hour before. The weakness of Sony's RX series has always been autofocus speed, which the RX10iv is said to solve in a big way. Given how long it takes us to make a decision, it's hard to be nimble in revising one...

  3. That was a strange outfit that boy was wearing. The only thing the pants, shirt and tie had in common is that they were all plaid.

  6. Beautiful high quality Pictures.
I use an External Hard-Drive to store all our Pictures. The ones loaded on the Computer that are placed in our Blog are only Deleted from the Computer so nobody can say the same picture was used more then once.
Be Safe and Enjoy your trip to the Winter Blast.

    It's about time.
